Frequently asked questions about the Verona Card

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Verona Card, which offers you free admission to over 20 attractions in Verona - including use of local public transport.

The Verona Card gives you free entry to the most important sights in Verona, such as the Arena di Verona, Casa di Giulietta, Castelvecchio and various museums and churches.

You can also use the public city bus network (ATV) free of charge and receive reduced admission to other attractions as well as discounts on tourist offers. A special advantage: fast-track access to the Arena di Verona without queuing.

The Verona Card is automatically activated the first time you use it - either when you enter an attraction for the first time or when you take your first bus ride. From this moment on, it is valid for 24 or 48 hours, depending on the option you choose.

You simply have to show the card at the entrance control or validate it on the bus at the card reader. The time only runs from the first use, not from the date of purchase.

Each attraction included in the Verona Card can only be visited once. Multiple entries to the same attraction are not possible.

However, you can use public transport an unlimited number of times during the entire period of validity.

With the Verona Card you can use all city bus lines (ATV city buses) in Verona free of charge and unlimited during the period of validity.

The Aerobus airport shuttle and intercity buses arenot included. The card is only valid for local public transport within Verona.

No, the Verona Card functions directly as a bus ticket. You do not have to buy an additional ticket when boarding the bus, but simply validate the card at the bus card reader.

Important: This only applies to urban lines in the city area. The pass is not valid for airport transportation or regional bus lines.

Yes, but youonly get priority access without queuingat the Arena di Verona. As this is the most visited attraction, you often save a lot of time here.

There are no special fast-track entrances for all other attractions. Important note: For the Casa di Giulietta, you also need to reserve a time slot online in advance as a Verona Card holder.

The Verona Card has a standard price with no age discounts. There are no discounts for children, young people, senior citizens or families.

However, children receive free or reduced admission to many museums anyway (often under the age of 8 or 14). The card is therefore usually not worthwhile for very young children, while it is definitely worthwhile for teenagers and adults.

After purchasing online, you will receive a digital voucher that you must exchange for the physical ticket on site. The main pick-up point is the IAT tourist information office in Via Leoncino 61 in Piazza Bra (next to the Arena).

Opening hours: approx. 09:00-17:00 on weekdays, slightly shorter on Sundays. The card will not be sent by post. Alternatively, you can also buy the card directly on site - at the tourist information office, at museum ticket offices or in authorized hotels.

In principle, there is no refund or reimbursement, even if attractions are unexpectedly closed or opening times change.

Exception: Online platforms such as Tiqets or GetYourGuide often offer a cancellation option - usually up to the day before the planned first use with a full refund. Check the cancellation conditions of the respective provider before purchasing.

If the Verona Card is lost, there is no entitlement to a replacement or refund. As the card is not registered as personalized, a lost pass will not be replaced.

You would have to buy a new card. Therefore, treat the Verona Card like cash and keep it safe.

The Verona Card is valid for one person at a time and is non-transferable. Each traveler needs their own card.

It is not possible to pass the card on to another person during the period of validity. The card should be signed by the holder, which underlines its personal use.
